Emmerdale star Lucy Pargeter has said she's 'finding it hard' as she tried to catch up with fans while taking on one of her biggest storylines to date. There were emotional scenes in the ITV soap earlier this week when her character Chas Dingle was diagnosed with cancer.
Emmerdale previously announced the storyline, adding that the show is working closely with Breast Cancer Now to portray Chas's journey with triple-negative breast cancer, the same disease her mum suffered from before her tragic death last year.
During Monday night's (January 22) trip to the Dales, Chas was devastated to be diagnosed with breast cancer. Dr Liam Cavanagh, who was the one to find the lump during an intimate moment between the pair, accompanied her to the hospital as she received her diagnosis.

He has since been checking in on her and earlier this week, Liam was pleased to hear Chas opening up to Lydia Dingle about her diagnosis. During the latest trip to the Dales on Wednesday night (January 24), Chas told Liam she's confided in Lydia, leaving him pleased with her bravery to speak about her diagnosis.
Following the episode, actress Lucy took to social media as she was inundated with messages about her latest hard-hitting storyline. She wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: "Just want to first apologise for not replying to each of you you who this story has personally connected with. I have read every one of your messages, but I'm finding it hard to read , learn lines and be a mum all at the same time at the moment."
