Ryan Thomas speaks out after Dancing on Ice debut after fighting back tears before reuniting with brothers and fiancee Lucy Mecklenburgh

Ryan Thomas has spoken out after his Dancing on Ice debut which came after her was seen fighting back tears over the poignancy of his first performance being on Sunday night (January 14). The actor is among the 12 celebrities to have signed up to the ITV skating show this year.
And Ryan, 38, was among the first six stars to take to the ice for their first performance before the following six perform the week after followed by the first skate-off and elimination of the 2024 series.
Ahead of the first show, hosted by Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern, Manchester-born Ryan took to Instagram and took a moment to honour his late father Dougie James, who sadly passed away in December 2020, as Sunday would have been his birthday.

In a touching video shared with his 1.1 million followers, the former Coronation Street star said: "I've got all the family coming. I've got my brothers, my fiance, my sister-in-law, my mum, my friends. But tonight, tonight's for you dad! Happy birthday. I love you so much!"
He then blew a kiss at the camera and added: "And I'm going to take that on to the show tonight." Ryan also wrote in the caption: "Feeling very Blessed to have all my family here tonight. Love you Dad. I know you're watching somewhere with a Southern Comfort one piece of ice!"
He then pulled off a brilliant performance when he later took to the ice with his fiancee Lucy Mecklenburgh, brothers Adam and Scott and mum Gail among those cheering him on from the live audience.
