Emmerdale fans were left divided as they spotted a major shift on the hit ITV soap.Soap fans have been treated to dark and grisly flash-forward scenes at the start of each episode this week, hinting at explosive outcomes for the village residents. The opening of the episode on Wednesday was no different (May 11) as it showed young Noah (Jack Downham) begging an unknown assailant to let him free from an empty grave in the woods surrounding Home Farm.He struggles to free himself before the anonymous perpetrator covers the grave over, leaving the stalking schoolboy in total darkness. Some fans had believed it could be Al (Michael Wildman) as he told Kerry (Laura Norton) he planned to track down Noah and teach him a lesson. It came after Chloe (Jessie Elland) revealed Noah had been stalking her and taking pictures without her consent. The flash-forward scenes also confirmed it was Cain Dingle who is involved in the nasty car crash, and one clip showed him bloodied up and slumped over his steering wheel. Some fans loved the flash-forwards and flocked to Twitter to praise the soap, whilst others weren't so convinced. One wrote: "obsessed with the flashforwards they look INCREDIBLE".A second agreed: "Loving these flash forwards they are brilliant".A third added: "What a way to start an episode", and another said: "Loving this flash forward edginess".However, others didn't seem too impressed and didn't shy away in airing their criticism. One wrote: "So it's not just the flashback intro all the soaps are getting into, it's the 'it's all kicking off' ones eh?
