EastEnders fans 'praying' Ricky Butcher returns after Janine phone call

Any EastEnders fan worth their salt is unable to hear the name "Ricky" without thinking of Patsy Palmer’s character Bianca Jackson hollering it halfway across Albert Square at the top of her voice. So fans of the much-loved character, played by Sid Owen, went into a state of extreme excitement last night, when the evil and conniving Janine Butcher made a call to her big brother Ricky and left him a voicemail, asking her to lend her money to get her out of a jam.
As soon as his name was uttered, Twitter exploded with super fans speculating that this phone call signalled a return to the square for Sid, who left the show back in 2012 after a whopping 24-year stint playing the hapless Ricky. One said: "I wanna see Ricky return as part of the Janine storyline", while another chipped in with, "Ricky, blast from the past. I can still here Patsy screaming Riiiickkkky".

Unsurprisingly, Janine, the character who everyone loves to hate, has got herself another right old mess, and needs some cold hard cash from her brother after offering her love rival Linda Carter £50,000 to leave Walford.
