Actress Jenny Platt is set to make her highly-anticipated return to Weatherfield next week as she reprises her role ats Violet Wilson on Coronation Street. But she's admitted she's worried what her kids will say.
Jenny's character was last in Weatherfield in 2008 after she gave birth to her son, Dylan Wilson, with father Sean Tully after they made a drunken pact to have a baby if they were single at 30. But now Jenny, 44, is returning to the soap as part of son Dylan's harrowing storyline which has seen him become involved in bullying Liam Connor.
Violet will learn about what her son has been doing for the first time, as both Dylan and dad Sean have been keeping the truth from her about Dylan's actions alongside his knife crime offence. Speaking of her return, Jenny, who admitted her biggest fear is seeing what her children think, admitted that she was "really, really scared" but since she's been back, it's been like "stepping back into 2008." She said: "It was absolutely brilliant and everything I hoped for because still so many of the same people, and it’s just like putting on a comfy old pair of shoes, you kind of go, 'Yes, I get to wear this character again and I get to see these people and be in this place.'." Jenny's on-screen son Dylan was recently exposed for his involvement in the bullying of Liam Connor, alongside ringleader Mason Radcliffe.
In the coming months, Dylan will be facing the serious repercussions of his actions and will need support from both his parents. Jenny's return will air on the soap on Wednesday 20th March 2024.
