Burglars wrecked part of a Greater Manchester B&Q as they raided the store. Residents living near to the store on Westhulme Way, in Oldham, 'woke with a bang' in the early hours of Tuesday morning (May 29).
Emergency services descended before 1am. One resident living close to the shop told the Manchester Evening News they heard a 'bang' before 'lights and sirens' as police arrived.
Workers were seen clearing up an area of the building yesterday, with bricks piled up near to where the store was damaged. It's believed the burglars reversed a flat-bed truck into the building to break entry.

"I called into B&Q today and one of the workmen clearing up the damage told me thieves bolt cropped the gates to access the car park and reversed a flat bed truck into the wall. Thieves were in and out in minutes. It must have been less than ten minutes after the bang that police were on the scene."
Greater Manchester Police has launched an investigation into the incident. A GMP spokesman said: "At around 12.35am on Tuesday, May 28 2024, we were called after an alarm activation at a business property on Westhulme Way in Oldham.
"It was established that a burglary had taken place. No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing."
