A 14-year-old boy who was arrested after a girl was stabbed at a high school in south Manchester last year has been released without charge, police have confirmed.
The incident happened at Parrs Wood High School in Didsbury on January 24 last year. A 14-year-old girl was attacked with a broken bottle, the M.E.N haspreviously reported.
She suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital. The 14-year-old boy was arrested at the scene. He was taken into custody for questioning and later released on bail as a police investigation continued.

The attack, which happened at around 1.10pm, is believed to have happened in the school's playground. The school, rated 'good' by Ofsted inspectors, has made no public comment since the incident.
Parents were sent an email that confirmed brief details of the incident and said some pupils may arrive home upset following events at the school. Parents were also urged by the school not to comment about the attack on social media.
Police said the girl was stabbed with a 'sharp instrument' in a statement, as officers clarified the weapon was not a knife.
Now a spokeswoman for GMP has confirmed the suspect was released without charge and was not cautioned. "The suspect was released with no further action," said the spokeswoman.
Both the school and Manchester City Council have previously said they will not comment on the incident.
A 'short inspection' carried out by Ofsted in May 2019 said the school, judged 'good' in 2013, had 'maintained the good quality of education'.
