Today (March 25) is Big Sean’s 32nd birthday, and, to celebrate, he’s revealed the title of his next album: Detroit 2. The record, which does not yet have a release date, will arrive via G.O.O.D. Music/Def Jam Recordings. Check out Sean’s new Detroit 2 trailer below.
Big Sean released his Detroit mixtape back in September 2012, a little more than a year after his studio debut Finally Famous. The project had guest spots from Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Jhené Aiko, Common, and others.

Amnesia Scanner—the Berlin-based duo of Ville Haimala and Martti Kalliala—are back with a new album. It’s called Tearless and it’s set to arrive on June 5 via PAN. Phoebe Bridgers has announced her sophomore solo album: Punisher is out June 19 via Dead Oceans. Back in 2011, Baths released Pop Music / False B-Sides, a collection of tracks that did not make the cut for his 2010 debut Cerulean. Now, he’s back with a sequel: Pop Music / False B-Sides II features songs that were considered for 2013’s Obsidian and 2017’s Romaplasm. “Harlem Shake” producer Baauer is back with his sophomore album. It’s called Planet’s Mad and it arrives June 5 via LuckyMe. Today, he’s shared a new Rick Farin–directed music video for the album’s lead single “Planet’s Mad.” Watch the video—which was built in video game engines and features music from another song called “Magic”—below.
Charli XCX has announced a new album. “I’m going to use this isolation time to make a brand new album from scratch,” she said in a video posted online today (April 6). “I’m only going to be able to use the tools I have at my fingertips to create all music, all artwork, all videos... everything—in that sense, it’ll be very DIY” Charli also said that the album is out May 15 and that its working title is how i’m feeling now. Greg Fox—the composer and virtuoso drummer for Ex Eye, Liturgy, Zs, and more— has announced a new album. Contact is out May 29 via RVNG Intl. The follow-up to 2017’s The Gradual Progression, Contact was produced and mixed by Randall Dunn. A portion of its proceeds will benefit the Dhamma Dharā Vipassana Meditation Center. Continuous Portrait arrives digitally May 29 via Temporary Residence Ltd. Hit-Boy and Boi-1da clashed in an epic beat battle on Instagram Live last night. After Boi-1da shared a Drake and Roddy Ricch collaboration, Hit-Boy countered with an unreleased Big Sean and Nipsey Hussle track, in which the Detroit rapper downplays his long-rumored tensions with Kendrick Lamar.
I Break Horses, the pop project led by Maria Lendén, has a new album due later this spring. It’s called Warnings, and it’s her first record in six years, following 2014’s Chiaroscuro. Listen to “Neon Lights” from the album, which arrives May 8 via Bella Union/PIAS, below.
Craig Finn, frontman for the Hold Steady, has announced a new album called All These Perfect Crosses. He’s also shared its title track. The LP was recorded during Finn’s sessions from his most recent solo album, last year’s I Need a New War. The double album arrives June 20 (via Partisan) for the recently rescheduled Record Store Day. Chilean hip-hop artist Ana Tijoux has announced her first studio album in six years. Antifa Dance is out later this year, and Tijoux has shared the title track and an accompanying music video, directed by Daniela López Lugo and co-starring Chilean singer-songwriter Alex Anwandter.
