The Hold Steady’s Craig Finn Announces New Album, Shares New Song: Listen

Bing & Ruth, the project led of New York composer David Moore, has announced a new album. Species is out July 17 via 4AD. Moore’s also shared a new video for the new song “I Had No Dream.” Watch it below.

Amnesia Scanner—the Berlin-based duo of Ville Haimala and Martti Kalliala—are back with a new album. It’s called Tearless and it’s set to arrive on June 5 via PAN. Listen to “AS Going” from the LP below. The new album, which follows up their 2018 full-length Another Life, features Lalita, Code Orange, and LYZZA.

Bob Nanna, best known as the frontman of Braid and Hey Mercedes, has announced his first solo full-length under his own name. The album is called Celebration States and it’s out July 10 (via New Granada). The record includes last year’s “Do You Want to Buy a Guitar?” and a new track called “Mr. Albatross.” Hear both songs below (via Alternative Press).

Grizzly Bear drummer Christopher Bear has announced his first solo record, as BrooklynVegan notes. Bear, who records under the name Fools, will release Fools’ Harp Vol. 1 on May 18 via Music From Memory. Below, hear a new song called “Deefyfe.”

Kodie Shane has released a new mixtape. Quarantine is a four-track project that the Atlanta rapper made at home over the last two weeks. Check out the mixtape, made in collaboration with Saucy Longwe, below.

Phoebe Bridgers has announced her sophomore solo album: Punisher is out June 19 via Dead Oceans. Back in 2011, Baths released Pop Music / False B-Sides, a collection of tracks that did not make the cut for his 2010 debut Cerulean. Now, he’s back with a sequel: Pop Music / False B-Sides II features songs that were considered for 2013’s Obsidian and 2017’s Romaplasm. (Sandy) Alex G has shared a new song titled “rosebush.” The largely-instrumental track is accompanied by video that contains a short story about a woman named Joanna, three yowling grey cats, and the titular rosebush. The story also has the line, “Crawl back to your hole, rat!,” written many times. Check out the song and video below.

Greg Fox—the composer and virtuoso drummer for Ex Eye, Liturgy, Zs, and more— has announced a new album. Contact is out May 29 via RVNG Intl. The follow-up to 2017’s The Gradual Progression, Contact was produced and mixed by Randall Dunn. A portion of its proceeds will benefit the Dhamma Dharā Vipassana Meditation Center. Quelle Chris has announced a new album that features Earl Sweatshirt, billy woods, Tune-Yards’ Merrill Garbus, Denmark Vessey, Homeboy Sandman, Pink Siifu, comedian Josh Gondelman, and more. It’s called Innocent Country 2 and it arrives April 24 via Mello Music Group. He’s also shared a new track from the record, titled “LIVING HAPPY” (featuring Chicago’s Joseph Chilliams and New Orleans-based rapper Cavalier).
