Nick Hakim Announces New Album, Shares Video for New Song “QADIR”: Watch

Playboi Carti is back. The rapper has shared the video for a new song called “@ MEH,” his first solo track since the release of his most recent album Die Lit in 2018. Check out the music video, directed by Carti and Nick Walker, below. The new track was produced by jetsonmade, who came to prominence last year as one of DaBaby’s primary producers, alongside Neekobaby and deskhop.

Naeem Juwan, the Baltimore-born and Los Angeles–based artist formerly known as Spank Rock, has announced his new album Startisha. The LP is out June 12 via 37d03d. According to a press release, Naeem began working on Startisha four years ago in Philadelphia. He later continued work on the record at Justin Vernon’s home studio. Startisha features contributions from Vernon, Francis and the Lights, Ryan Olson, Swamp Dogg, Velvet Negroni, Amanda Blank, and Micah James.

Bing & Ruth, the project led of New York composer David Moore, has announced a new album. Species is out July 17 via 4AD. Moore’s also shared a new video for the new song “I Had No Dream.” Watch it below.

Tones and I is back!

Back in 2011, Baths released Pop Music / False B-Sides, a collection of tracks that did not make the cut for his 2010 debut Cerulean. Now, he’s back with a sequel: Pop Music / False B-Sides II features songs that were considered for 2013’s Obsidian and 2017’s Romaplasm. “Harlem Shake” producer Baauer is back with his sophomore album. It’s called Planet’s Mad and it arrives June 5 via LuckyMe. Today, he’s shared a new Rick Farin–directed music video for the album’s lead single “Planet’s Mad.” Watch the video—which was built in video game engines and features music from another song called “Magic”—below.

Charli XCX has announced a new album. “I’m going to use this isolation time to make a brand new album from scratch,” she said in a video posted online today (April 6). “I’m only going to be able to use the tools I have at my fingertips to create all music, all artwork, all videos... everything—in that sense, it’ll be very DIY” Charli also said that the album is out May 15 and that its working title is how i’m feeling now. Laura Marling has announced she has moved up the release date of her new album, Song for Our Daughter. Originally slated for a summer release, the record will now arrive April 10 via Partisan/Chrysalis. “In light of the change to all our circumstances, I saw no reason to hold back on something that, at the very least, might entertain, and at its best, provide some sense of union,” she wrote in a statement. Bad Bunny has rescheduled his upcoming concerts in Puerto Rico, the star confirmed via a song called “En Casita” (featuring Gabriela) that he posted on SoundCloud on Saturday morning (April 4).

The follow-up to 2017’s The Gradual Progression, Contact was produced and mixed by Randall Dunn. A portion of its proceeds will benefit the Dhamma Dharā Vipassana Meditation Center. Kings of Leon have shared a new song titled “Going Nowhere.” The track arrives with a black-and-white video featuring the group’s Caleb Followill, directed Casey McGrath and filmed live in Nashville. “Stay safe. Yaeji has a new song called “WHAT WE DREW 우리가 그려왔던,” and it’s arrived today with a new music video. It was filmed in Korea with Dawnqmentary and Dadaism Club. “This song is about sharing love and gratitude with the people you call family,” Yaeji said in a statement. “Dawn and our friends helped bring my nostalgia for Korea to life.” Watch it below.

Craig Finn, frontman for the Hold Steady, has announced a new album called All These Perfect Crosses. He’s also shared its title track. The LP was recorded during Finn’s sessions from his most recent solo album, last year’s I Need a New War. The double album arrives June 20 (via Partisan) for the recently rescheduled Record Store Day.
