BBC The Traitors' host Claudia Winkleman confessed she was nervous about the second series of the show, as she really wants fans to love it. At Ardross Castle, where the show is filmed, Claudia chatted with the Mirror about the success of the show and her hopes for the new series, which started this week... Are you nervous about the second series of The Traitors? I really want the people who loved it the first time to love it for a second, and we feel very responsible.
When the first episode airs, I'll be sick. How would you fare as a contestant yourself? I think I'd be quite good! It's about emotional intelligence and nothing to do with brains. How come you added both The Traitors and The Piano to your roster of shows last year? I think I turned 50 and thought I'd take a few more risks.
I love The Traitors, I love Strictly, I love The Piano. How lucky am I? How do you view your role? I'm with the people who are dancing, I'm with the people who play the piano and I'm with the people who come in here to try to win that money. Did you say yes to The Traitors straight away? I was a bit unsure at first because I'm not one for taking risks and I love my bed.
At 51, when they suggested "Scotland for three weeks?", I thought it was a joke. But then I watched the Dutch version and couldn't get enough. Did you think it would be such a big hit? We're still amazed and surprised by how much people loved it.
The moment I realised something special was happening was when Kathy Burke, who I admire greatly, posted about it.
I thought I must be dreaming. Did you enjoy filming? Once the game begins, I can't take my eyes off it. I watch them, listen to them, wait to see who's been 'murdered'.
