Amanda Abbington appeared distracted from Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday night (October 28) as she declared 'I love you' to a pal. The actress would have been due to return to the ballroom this weekend after missing last weekend's show due to "medical reasons".
However, it was announced earlier this week that Amanda would be leaving the BBC One dance contest due to "personal reasons". During Monday night’s episode of Strictly spin-off show, It Takes Two, it was confirmed that the Sherlock star would be dropping out before she addressed her exit the following day
Commenting on Instagram on Tuesday alongside a picture of her dancing shoes, Amanda wrote: “It is with deepest regret that I had to leave Strictly. I did not come to this decision easily or lightly but for personal reasons I am unable to continue."

The show's co-host Claudia Winkleman then told Amanda "we are sending you all our love" during Saturday night’s episode of Strictly as the competition continued on as normal with its planned Halloween special.
And as week six of the competition aired, Amanda was supported by a Hollywood star. Actor Simon Pegg took to Instagram as the episode began with a picture of the pair.
The Shaun of the Dead star could be seen hugging Amanda as he wrote: "Friends for 25 years. Love you." Amanda then re-shared the sweet message to her own account and added: "I love you too dear friend. Thank you for the most wonderful 25 years."
