Strictly Come Dancing viewers found themselves ‘caught out’ after a major change to the show during Saturday’s episode. BBC One made adjustments to Saturday’s TV schedule, which impacted the live show.
The dance contest was moved to an earlier time slot to accommodate the annual Festival of Remembrance, which will be broadcast at 9pm. It meant Strictly Come Dancing began at the earlier time of 6.05pm, instead of its usual start time of 7.05pm.
But not all viewers were aware of the change and were forced to ‘play catch up’ as they missed the start. Some complained that the early start time was inconvenient.

Taking to social media site X, fans complained about the change. @Partlypainted said: Why is #strictly on so early? I know it’s a family show but many people are just in from work or shopping and preparing dinner at that time. I have to watch it later so can’t vote.”
@JMACL1673 wrote: “Awww man, didn’t know this was on early!” while @Beckie_Miller_ added: “Caught out by the early start.” @cdaly72 said: “Forgot #Strictly was on early. Now playing catch up.” @AGH1494 added: “Strictly has got no right being on so bloody early.”
Others commended that it felt wrong watching the show so early. @janinessharon said: “strictly on so early is almost criminal”. @Hannahrachael18 wrote: “Also strictly being THIS early feels illegal.”
