Eric took to Facebook on Friday (April 21) to share his story in a video.
He explained that he was having problems with his prostate after getting a knee replacement and went to a urologist to discuss how to treat it. After being recommended a UroLift procedure, his problems got worse, which led to him seeking a second opinion.
His diagnosis came shortly after that, and he had a UroLift during which doctors removed his cancer. He began undergoing treatment after doctors found “high-grade cancer cells.”
“So that’s where I am right now,” he explained, announcing that he planned to continue acting while undergoing weekly treatment for six weeks. “I’m a little under the weather, but not really much. I’ve learned now to listen to my body more and not go all out. I’m gonna get it. And I’ll be in top form again soon.”
He also explained why he felt the need to speak out: “I hate to be this personal but I think this may be good for some older guys who may or may not listen to this,” he said.
We will be keeping Eric in our thoughts and hope he makes a full recovery soon.
