The second series of the hugely popular Bridgerton was released today and viewers may have noticed the Duke, Simon, hasn't appeared. Played by Regé-Jean Page the Duke was a hit with many fans of the show.
Many will remember series one of the show ended with the Duke's wife Daphne giving birth. And while Daphne, played by Phoebe Dynevor, has returned she is without the Duke by her side.
Page has previous announced he would not be returning to the show. It came after Bridgerton series two was revealed.

Here’s everything you need to know about why Page hasn’t returned to the Netflix series.
He originally planned for his stint on the series to last one season. He told Variety he won’t be continuing his role as the Duke of Hastings in season 2. Which makes sense as each series focuses on one Bridgerton sibling and their journey to marriage, even if Page decided to return he would be nothing more than a supporting character.
“It felt like a limited series. I get to come in, I get to contribute my bit and then the Bridgerton family rolls on.” he told Variety.
Fans can expect to see the actor in other upcoming projects such as The Gray Man and Dungeons and Dragons.
There are eight episodes in the second series of Bridgerton. The episode titles were previously revealed by show creator Chris Van Dusen on Twitter.
The premiere episode “Capital R Rake” is in reference to Lady Whistledown’s nickname to Anthony Bridgerton in the first season. The second episode “Off To The Races” gives us a clue that the plot will be based around a racetrack.
Episode three is called “A Bee in Your Bonnet”, followed by episode four “Victory”, then episode five “An Unthinkable Fate”,
