Netflix have confirmed Page will not return to season 2. The second season of the show centres around Anthony Bridgerton and Kate Sharma, shifting the focus away from Daphne and Simon.
However, that said, Phoebe Dynevor who plays Daphne is returning to the show as a supporting character in the show’s second chapter.
Bridgerton announced this via Instagram in the style of a letter from Lady Whistledown: “Dear Readers, while all eyes turn to Lord Anthony Bridgerton’s quest to find a Viscountess, we bid adieu to Regé-Jean Page, who so triumphantly played the Duke of Hastings,”
“We’ll miss Simon’s presence onscreen, but he will always be a part of the Bridgerton family,” it continued, “Daphne will remain a devoted wife and sister, helping her brother navigate the upcoming social season and what it has to offer—more intrigue and romance than my readers may be able to bear.”
Page told Variety his reason for exiting the show is because he originally planned for his stint on the series to only last one season.
