Dion Charles is over his thigh injury which has kept him out of action of late for Bolton Wanderers with the Whites opting to reduce risk of the problem reoccuring so he can be fit and firing for the visit of Sheffield Wednesday, Ian Evatt has explained.
The striker has only played in the League One season opener against Ipswich Town and has not featured for Wanderers since that. He picked up a slight thigh problem which has kept him out of action since then.
The extent of the problem was discovered when a precautionary scan showed damage which could have worsened with playing. It is why Charles did not feature against Morecambe earlier this week and why he has been given extra time to be ready to take on the Owls.

Charles is yet to open his goalscoring account for this season, in light of his absence. But Wanderers have not struggled to find the back of the net despite him not being on the pitch.
Wanderers are created chances and starting to do so more from set pieces, as was evidenced in the goalless draw against Port Vale last weekend. It is an area the Whites are working on to try and score from more regularly.
Bolton boss Evatt said: “He’s over it. It was one of those injuries where he was aware of it but felt he could carry on and just out of precaution, we had it scanned, and then we found a bit of damage which could have worsened. It might not have but we chose not to take that risk because he’s a big player for us and because we have other options there which can give him the time to heal properly.
“He’s healed properly, he’s training fine. We just felt that Morecambe was a step too soon and more of a risk
