Manchester United are edging closer to their fourth transfer of the window in the form of Fenerbahce goalkeeper Altay Bayindir.
MEN Sport understands the 25-year-old has been given permission to travel to Greece so United can assess a back injury which is currently halting the move progressing further. The Reds are in search of another goalkeeper having sold Matej Kovar and Nathan Bishop this summer.
Tom Heaton impressed in pre-season but is currently out with a calf strain. Dean Henderson is also expected to leave the club in the summer with Crystal Palace interested in a loan with obligation to buy deal.

But who is the player United want to task with filling the gap left by Henderson and co? The Manchester Evening News has taken a look.
Standing at 6ft6, Bayindir is an imposing presence in the goal at Turkish giants Fenerbahce. He has made a total of 145 appearances for his club since joining in 2019 from Ankaragucu.
During those appearances, the 25-year-old shot-stopper has kept 44 clean sheets and conceded 162 goals. Bayindir is also a Turkish international having received his call-up from Senol Gunes in 2021; to date he has made five appearances for his national team.
In 2022/23, Bayindir earned himself the captain's armband at Fenerbahce having impressed with his leadership qualities. Should the Reds wish to sign the 'keeper, he has a £4.3m release clause inserted into his contract which Erik ten Hag's team will have no problems activating.
