He told Sky Sports: "I’m surprised that it was a draw, I didn’t think Man United had a clean sheet in them, I didn’t think they had a defensive performance like that in them. Obviously Liverpool were far below par, you can look at the statistics all you like but they were so scruffy, clumsy in the final third and Man United grew in the game.
"I actually thought Liverpool could’ve lost it because United started to get counter-attacks, dangerous ones because of the switch Klopp made away from the 4-3-3.
"It was an awkward watch for Liverpool today, the atmosphere I thought was the worst ever at a match between the two teams. It’s the largest crowd they’ve had for the last 60, 70 years but they were so quiet and I’m usually complimentary about Liverpool fans.
