Wedding revelation for 'stress eater' mum led to amazing five stone weight loss

Having been bullied for her size as a child, mum-of-two Ronnie Fennell spent her entire life trying to lose weight.
The 62-year-old attempted every diet under the sun but nothing seemed to help her slim down – eventually seeing her reach a weight of 22st 10lbs.
The personal assistant finally decided to change her lifestyle for good after her daughter’s wedding in August 2022. The mum had purchased a new dress for the occasion and desperately wanted to feel good in her outfit.

But her health conditions and the stress of trying to diet meant Ronnie actually gained weight – leaving her devastated when she saw photos of herself on the big day.
“I bought a dress and I was desperate to lose weight,” the mum told the Manchester Evening News. “I thought, although I’m a big person, if I can be a bit slimmer then I won’t stand out.
“But I’m a stress eater and stress puts on weight. However hard I tried, I couldn’t lose weight – I was piling it on rather than losing it.
“On the day of the wedding, it was a hot day and I was trying to look my best. But when the photos came back, I just cried. I thought, is that really what I look like? That was the trigger.”
Several months later, Ronnie was scrolling on Facebook when she saw a post about Greater Manchester and Cheshire based slimming group Beeweighed.
Noticing they offered online sessions, Ronnie, who lives in Suffolk, decided to join the group in February this year.
By taking up swimming, lowering her portion sizes and following an intermittent fasting regime, the mum watched
