Popular BBC school drama Waterloo Road is making a dramatic return to our screens tonight (Tuesday, January 2). Series 13 will feature eight new episodes, which will continue to explore real-life topics affecting teenagers, their families and school staff.
The cast of the new series will see the return of some familiar faces, as the first episode focuses on the school still trying to come to terms with the loss of Danny Lewis, with Kim Campbell (played by Angela Griffin) taking full responsibility for the death. Viewers will also be introduced to five newcomer students; Hattie Dynevor, the daughter of Sally Dynevor who played Sally Metcalfe on Coronation Street, and sister Phoebe, who starred as Daphne in hit Netflix show Bridgerton.
Other storylines include Preston Walters looking set to leave the Sixth Form as the impact of his bulimia nervosa damages his school life. The school also looks set to join an academy trust with CEO Andrew Treneman and Kim set to reignite their romance.
