Coronation Street star Alex Bain was out supporting his former co-star amid rumours he's set to leave the soap himself this year. The actor, known for playing Simon Barlow in the ITV soap, ended his year by heading to catch the pantomime.
He headed to King George's Hall in Blackburn for their production of Aladdin starring former soap star Tristan Gemmill. The actor, who played Weatherfield's Robert Preston from 2015 to 2019, has starred as Abanazar in the panto throughout December.
And Alex went to watch his last show and was clearly impressed by what he saw. Taking to his Instagram Story, the soap star posted a picture of the stage and wrote: "Fantastic pantomime of Aladdin to end the year!"

Again taking to his Instagram Story, the 22-year-old typed a message against a black backdrop which read: "(I know it's not over yet but let me do some thanking early!) Well, well, well, 2023 you have been an interesting year."
He continued: "Met some of the best people this year. Will be forever grateful for those who've had my back this year and help me through the tougher parts: you know who you all are." Alex rounded off his message by adding: "2024 is gonna be a whopper..." before adding the eyes emojis.
The post comes after it has been reported Alex is set to bow out of Corrie this year. The soap star first appeared on the cobbles as Simon, the son of Peter Barlow, aged seven. Over
