A touching tribute to the late Paul O'Grady left National Television Awards viewers 'in tears' on Tuesday night (September 5).
Paul O'Grady: For the Love of Dogs won the award for Factual programme of the year at the star studded 2023 awards, held at London's O2 Arena. There was a standing ovation as the award was announced.
Earlier this year, in March, it was announced that the comedian and TV presenter had died at the age of 61-years-old.

During the NTAs, host Joel Dommett took a moment to celebrate the star's life as the audience erupted into applause. He said: “Now, before we go on, here at the National Television Awards we wanted to remember someone very special. The one and only, Paul O’Grady.”
"Nominated an astonishing 28 times for an NTA, his first nearly 30 years ago. His career came in many guises, but no matter what he did there was always kindness, coupled with a unique sense of fun that won over audiences in an instant. Here's a reminder of why we all love him so, so much."
A touching compilation video was then played out, showing Paul's long-running career. It took just minutes for viewers to take to social media to share their thoughts on the tribute.
