Hit Scots sitcom Two Doors Down returns to our TV screens tonight and fans are being promised the 'best series yet' with a few new faces appearing.
Written by Simon Carlyle and Gregor Sharp, episode one of series six will be called 'Macaroni' and will see Colin in a vulnerable state after being unceremoniously dumped by his wife Cathy.
Elaine C. Smith, who plays brutally honest neighbour Christine, Johnathan Watson who plays Colin, and Alex Norton who plays Eric, have been speaking ahead of the new season of the BBC Two sitcom.
In an interview with The Lewis Nicholls Show on YouTube, Johnathan said that Doon Mackichan (Cathy) leaving the show has given bosses more options.
He added: "I was told from early on that I should have no concern about Colin not being in it, I think with such a strong character leaving, it opened up a lot of other avenues for the writers.
"A lot of new story lines came up that they might not have had a chance to visit, so in a funny kind of way, it has given a little bit of life to the programme as well."
Elaine then steamed in to say: "Could I say the stuff that Johnathan has in the new series is just... you thought you were cringing in the last series.
"The possibilities for Johnathan, and the writers, for the new series have proved really quite amazing actually. I honestly think this is the best series yet."
It's understood that talks have already been had about the commissioning of a series seven.
During an exclusive chat with the Daily Record last week, Elaine C. Smith she told us the beauty of the show is it's "relatable" all over the world, and people often stop her in the street to say Christine is like a "member of their family".
There's also a few famous fans of the BBC programme, with
