A man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder after a 31-year-old was ‘run down by a car’ on a residential Clydebank street.
James Lang made no plea during a private hearing at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Wednesday, November 23.
The 30-year-old, from Glasgow, was remanded in custody with the case against him submitted for further examination by prosecutors. He is due to reappear within the next eight days.
Lang was arrested and charged by police investigating an incident in the Graham Avenue area of the town, which took place on March 15, 2022.
The victim suffered minor injuries after allegedly being knocked down by a white Toyota C-HR, which was seen driving off in the direction of Kilbowie Road at around 6.30pm. Police Scotland have said that enquiries into the incident remain ongoing.
A statement from the force said: “Detectives in Clydebank can confirm that a 30-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an attempted murder in the Graham Avenue area of Clydebank, which took place on Tuesday, 15 March, 2022.
“The man is expected to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 23 November, 2022, and further enquiries into the incident remain ongoing.”
