This Morning fans go wild as Vernon Kay replaces Phillip Schofield

Vernon Kay has replaced Phillip Schofield as co-host on This Morning on Wednesday 2 February, after he tested positive for covid-19. The Dancing on Ice presenter announced on Instagram on Monday evening that he caught the virus and would have to self-isolate for the rest of the week. Yesterday, Alison Hammondstepped in for the 59 year old presenter, but today former I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here star, Vernon Kay, has taken the prime spot on the sofa.
The 47 year old is hosting with Rochelle Humes, 32, who has been filling in for Holly Willoughby for the past few weeks while she is away filming a new series for the BBC. Fans were delighted to see Vernon return to the sofa, one ITV viewer tweeted: "So good to have the brilliant @vernonkay hosting today. I'm happy!" As another gushed about the annoucement: "Yes @thismorning !!! This is what the majority of the public want. I shall be watching.
x" A third wrote: "Canny wait ! Absolute tonic you are Vernon. Such a natural!" As a viewer recollected: "You guys were great presenting the show together last time! x" Phillip is not the only presenter to have tested positive on the show during the pandemic, as Vernon also had to step down from co-hosting the show during the summer when he contracted the virus. He had been set to present This Morning with Rochelle, when Holly and Phil took their summer break.
