This Morning fans have likened Josie Gibson to a “real-life” version of Bridget Jones after she was sent to face another physical challenge. The 37 year old presenter has been a fan favourite since she joined the ITV morning show in 2019 and filled in as a co-host on the show for Holly Willoughby last year. On Tuesday 16 February Josie joined the presenters live from Manchester at a dry slope, where she tried snowboarding for the first time in honour of the Winter Olympics.
Josie’s instructor Amy pulled her down the start of the slope, before releasing her.The mum of one screamed all the way down as she raced towards the camera man and knocked into a small golden reindeer and fell straight on her bum. Josie joked that she had “four years to make it to the Olympics” in Paris and that “everyone has an inner Olympian inside them”. Before, Alison Hammond urged Josie to “get back up” to chat to her and Dermot O’Leary. Alison, 47, was in hysterics as Josie’s instructor, Amy, proceeded to pull her up from the ground with both hands in an ungraceful way, before Amy fell to the ground herself saying they were like a “seesaw”.
From taking on extreme challenges such as scaling a cliff and jumping into a waterfall, Josie has sent fans wild with her “diva fits” as she gives each new activity a go. Fans of the show have compared Josie to a beloved, British fictional presenter who was also thrown into situations and activities with no prior experience, Bridget Jones. One ITV viewer took to Twitter and said: “@GMB @itv OMG Josie, you have me in stitches! You really are the real life Bridget Jones
