ITV viewers were left in hysterics at Josie Gibson’s extreme trial on This Morning on Tuesday 8 February. In the challenge, the 37 year old presenter visited a waterfall and had to jump off some rocks into the pool of water below. As Josie leant over to look down she let her producer Harry jump into the water first, as she is “terrified” of heights.
Josie could be heard saying "no way" and swearing as she admits "I've fallen at the first hurdle" but "I didn't expect to be thrown in at the deep end right from the start" and "I don't like extreme challenges." One tweeted: “Big jump? It was 2 feet and she getting on like it was this lol #this morning” linking to a gif of someone jumping off an incredibly tall, steep cliff. Another added: “#ThisMorning a 2 metre jump into water lol I’ve conquered my fear of heights” with a string of laughing faces. A third continued: “Was she really panicking over that small little hop” with a string of crying faces.
Other viewers were entertained as the adventurous presenter likened herself to female action hero, Lara Croft. They wrote: “Love how Josie mentions Lara Croft lol #ThisMorning.” Though many supporters were glad that Josie avoided the steep drop. One fan tweeted: “That’s alright Josie #ThisMorning isn’t worth dying for!” Josie eventually jumped down into the water, after scaling further down the rock on foot.
