A 19-year-old has died after a one-car crash on the M62 - with the teenage driver arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
The pair were travelling in a grey Vauxhall Astra on the westbound side of the motorway near junction 21 for Milnrow at around 10.30pm last night (Thursday) when the driver 'lost control'. Police said the car crashed into the central barriers, before crashing onto the eastbound side of the motorway and overturning.
Emergency crews rushed to the crash but tragically, the passenger - a 19-year-old male - was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver - another 19-year-old male - suffered minor injuries, while another passenger escaped uninjured.

Later, the driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He remains in custody to be quizzed by detectives.
The motorway was fully shut off after the incident as investigations were carried out. It has remained shut for hours in both directions between junction 21 and 22 and, as of 8.40am, the closure remains in place.
Any witnesses are being urged to contact Greater Manchester Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU). Officers are also keen to speak to anyone who has dash cam or mobile phone footage.
