Strictly Come Dancing star Nadiya Bychkova has revealed that her mum has returned to Ukraine to care for her grandmother. The professional dancer, 33, hails from Luhansk in Ukraine and her mum Larisa has returned back to their homeland as her grandmother needs caring for.
Nadiya, who is currently dating fellow dancer Kai Widdrington, admitted that the situation is "very difficult" and that she is hoping to bring her grandmother to the UK. Speaking to MailOnline, the mum-of-one explained: "It is very difficult right now.
My mum is flying back to look after my grandmother, and we're trying to get her to the UK." Nadiya, who is dancing with singer Matt Goss, 54, on this year's Strictly, also added: "It’s a tough one, but I am trying to do everything I can to support and keep them safe." The Strictly pro has previously opened up about how the war in Ukraine has impacted her family, following Russia’s invasion and attacks. During an interview on ITV's This Morning earlier this year, she revealed some of her family and friends are still stuck in Ukraine.
“I have some family there and friends. It’s very sad," she said when she appeared on the daytime show alongside fellow dancer Graziano Di Prima.

Fans of Strictly Come Dancing were left baffled when they tuned into the spin-off show. Strictly - It Takes Two was back on BBC2 on Monday night (October 17) with Rylan Clark chatting to the latest couple to exit the BBC One dance contest as well as other couples who started training for next weekend.
Strictly Come Dancing professionals Kai Widdrington and Nadiya Bychkova have given fans an exciting relationship update after announcing the “latest edition” to their family. After they started dating earlier this year, the pair’s relationship appears to have gone from strength-to-strength, and Kai, 27, and 33 year old Nadiya often gush over each other on social media and share snaps from their romantic holidays abroad. And now it seems as though their relationship has entered a whole new stage after the pair took to social media to reveal that they’d welcomed a new family member that they’d been keeping a secret.

Since signing up for Strictly Come Dancing, singer Matt Goss has been spending hours in the dance studio alongside Nadiya Bychkova as he gets to grips with the ins and outs of ballroom dancing. But while he may be spending working up a sweat in order to impress the Strictly judges and avoid the dreaded dance off, away from his time in the studio, the Bros frontman can be found relaxing at his home in London. Prior to appearing on the show, the 53 year old had been living in Las Vegas where he’d embarked on a residency in so-called Sin City.
Strictly Come Dancing star Matt Goss is said to be a "completely different person", following his worrying stint in the dreaded dance-off last weekend. The Bros singer and his pro dance partner Nadiya Bychkova found themselves in the first bottom two of the series, up against Loose Women's Kaye Adams and her pro dance partner Kai Widdrington. It was Kaye who was sent home after both couples danced again, with Matt and Nadiya surviving for another week.
Strictly Come Dancing stars, singer Matt Goss and his pro-dance partner Nadiya Bychkova, appeared on Good Morning Britain today (October 7). Presenter Kate Garraway announced the pair were coming up on the show but appeared to have some difficulty pronouncing Nadiya's last name as she attempted to read the segment teaser saying "it's Matt and his partner Nadiya Bychkova" and then covered her mouth and said: "Oops did I say that wrongly," as her co-host Ben began to laugh.
