Strictly Come Dancing star Les Dennis was reportedly "clashing" with his professional dance partner Nancy Xu behind the scenes before he unfortunately became the first contestant to be voted off the hugely-popular BBC competition. The TV legend, who is best known for presenting the quiz show Family Fortunes in the 90s and early 2000s, was the oldest male celebrity taking part this year, and struggled with the dance routines.
Pro star Nancy, who unfortunately suffered from a neck injury in the first live show, did her best to help comedian and TV presenter Les achieve his full potential on the show, but it wasn't enough to stop him from ending up in the bottom two at the weekend. The 69 year old star seemed to be having a great time moving and swaying to the beat on the dance floor on Saturday night's show, 30th September, but according to reports, the pair's lack of connection and poor performance were a direct result of them not getting on in the training room.
A source has also claimed that Les was "moody" and tired out because he struggled with the energy required in the dances. “Les the entertainer may have charmed audiences with his style, but behind the scenes it was a vastly different story," the insider told The Sun.
“Les was often moody and erratic because he found the training a very draining process." The source went on to say that the TV star was left "knackered" only two weeks in, and this led to clashes with Nancy, who was determined to improve her partner's skills. According to the reports, the pair never actually "fell out" and were always "respectful", but things were already a struggle.
