The first live show of Strictly Come Dancing 2023 took place on Saturday evening, with plenty of famous faces taking to the dancefloor to show off their skills.
And whilst fans of the show were happy to see its return, some viewers took to social media to share their concerns about one dancer who had appeared to sustain an injury during her routine.
Nancy Xu and comedian Les Dennis performed a Tango to 'Don't You Want Me' by The Human League, was holding a tissue to her neck as the pair walked up the stairs at the end of their routine to await the judges' scores.
And as she spoke with Claudia Winkleman about the routine they'd just performed, fans on Twitter were quick to point out that she appeared to be injured, the Mirror reports.
One wrote: "Does Nancy have blood on her neck? #Strictly," as another added: "Hope Nancy is ok… that looks like an injury."
A third added: "Nancy is bleeding! Poor Nancy! #strictly," as a fourth wrote: "what was on the side of nancy's neck?? is my girl okay?? #strictly." A fifth penned on social media: "Has Nancy cut her neck? #Strictly."
Nancy is paired with TV presenter and comedian Les Dennis for this series of the dancing competition, and he recently admitted it was one of his final chances to do the show.
He said: "I was in the mix for Strictly, and then I heard from my agent I’d got it, and I called my wife and she cried – but in a good way. She didn’t cry going, ‘Don’t do it!' It’s a big challenge. The last few years, I’ve had challenges just come out of nowhere, like I did my first opera two years ago at the RSC, with no training. This is such a massive opportunity as I approach 70. I thought why not?"
According to Les, the Charleston is likely to be the most difficult dance he'll have
