Nothing beats a good library, and with December just around the corner, there isn't anything quite like wrapping up with a warm blanket and a good book as the temperature outside plummets.
While everyone has their own idea of the perfect reading spot, looking back at Scotland's history, there are countless examples of grand and opulent spaces that are every book lovers' dream.
The National Trust for Scotland (NTS) has compiled a list of some of its best libraries. Whether you're a book lover, a history buff, or just like beautiful buildings, these six libraries are worth a visit. Scattered around Scotland, from Moray to Helensburgh, they all offer something unique.
Here is a roundup of six of the charity's picks - the full list can be found on the National Trust for Scotland website.

Brodie Castle is located approximately 3.5 miles from Forres in Moray. The 16th-century castle was the ancestral home of the Brodie clan for more than 400 years.
Its library boasts over 6,000 volumes and contains reading chairs, armchairs, and sofas for unparalleled comfort.
The National Trust for Scotland commented: "The room's origins are humble, though you’d never guess it today: the library was constructed in 1846 out of what had formerly been two storerooms!
"It's a comfortable and beloved room in the castle, and was used often by Major Ian Brodie, 24th Brodie of Brodie and clan chieftain, who is notable for becoming one of the world's most successful daffodil breeders and creating the incredible daffodil display we see every spring at Brodie."
