"It is [disappointing] but I've said to the players, we have to build on that performance," Heckingbottom told Sky Sports. "Today we had to change shape with injuries we suffered, things like losing your captain, vice-captain and another two players is not ideal for us but it's an opportunity for other players.
"We adapted really well and allowed us to focus attention on this new formation. We’ve played it before but obviously against top-class players we need a lot more work on it. Lots of pleasing things, defended very well.
"I know United had a lot of ball but in terms of attempts, it was all from outside the box, they hit the bar and then the winner hit the top corner from 25 yards. That part is frustrating but it’s a tough league, we have to enjoy the challenge and be better next week."
