It could end up being a very chilly March for certain areas in Scotland as new weather maps show temperatures plunging to a bone-chilling -5C around the middle of the month.
Data from WXCharts predicts that in the early hours of March 13, some Scots could see the mercury take a drastic dive with some snowfall of up to 10cm sweeping across the country.
Areas in the north-east of Scotland are set to see the chilliest temperatures, with the likes of Dundee, Aberdeen and Stornoway also struggling to get above freezing - putting a dampener on the hopes for a warmer start to spring.

The Express reports that flurries of snowfall are expected to sweep across the UK from March 13, with 10cm of the white stuff predicted to fall on Friday March 15 across the north of Scotland.
The worst of the snow is predicted to hit at around midday, with areas such as Stirling and Perth also likely to see some lighter flurries at that time.
Wintry showers are more likely in northern England and Scotland, according to the Met Office. Their long-range forecast for March 9 to 18 reads: "Rather cloudy across the south and southwest of the UK on Saturday as outbreaks of rain spread northwards. Elsewhere, variable cloud with some showers likely in places.
"The driest and brightest conditions will probably be in sheltered parts of the northwest. Into Sunday and the start of the following week, rain in the west and southwest will probably clear away westwards, with variable cloud and a few showers elsewhere.
