Two teenage boys have died and another is fighting for his life following a horror crash in Stirling.
Emergency services raced to the A91, between the Bannockburn Interchange and Greencornhills Roundabout, after the alarm was raised at around 3.50pm on Sunday. Officers had been alerted to the crash involving a black Vauxhall Corsa and a lorry.
Ambulance crews attended and the rear seat passengers of the Corsa, two males aged 17 and 19, were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, a 17-year-old male, was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he remains in a critical condition.
A 17-year-old female, who was the front seat passenger, was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment and later released. The 29-year-old male driver of the HGV was not injured.
He was arrested in connection with a road traffic offence and released pending further enquiries.
Pictures taken from the scene on Sunday showed the huge emergency response, with a number of police vehicles and ambulances seen at the roundabout.
Officers were pictured making enquiries, while an air ambulance was all captured in attendance.
The road was closed to allow for crash investigations to take place and reopened around 2.40am on Monday. Enquiries are ongoing and officers are appealing for information.
