Angela Griffin has been a familiar face to TV viewers since she first made her name on Coronation Street in the early 90s. The talented star spent six years playing hairdresser Fiona Middleton and, post-cobbles, has carved out an impressive career on the small screen.
She's done everything from acting to presenting and her latest role sees her back in the classroom for series 13 of the BBC's long-running school drama Waterloo Road. Angela plays Kim Campbell, who started out in the show as an art teacher and is now headteacher.
This series has also seen Angela making her debut as a director on the show. And it won her plaudits from none other than children's TV legend Floella Benjamin - a woman she's cited as a huge inspiration while she was growing up.

Angela was born in Leeds on July 19, 1976 and has two older brothers. She went to the city's Beeston Primary School, Hugh Gaitskell Middle School and Intake High School.
She said she "absolutely, one hundred percent loved school", telling the BBC: "I sound like a nerd but I just loved learning, I loved being told that I'd done really well, I loved the praise, I loved being with my mates all day and just the general structure of school. I also loved having rules and knowing where I stood."
Angela was a member of the Leeds Children's Theatre and the South Leeds Youth Theatre and won her professional acting role at the age of 13, appearing in ITV children's programme Under The Bedclothes. She studied theatre studies, English language and literature and psychology at college but only completed a year of her A-levels before leaving when she got her role in
