The 31-year-old actor is from the Summerhill area of Dublin. Barry has spoken frankly about his family, as his mum had issues with drug addiction and died when he was 12.
He was raised partially by family members and also foster carers and alongside his brother, Eric, Barry spent seven years switching between 13 foster homes. After the brothers were taken into care, they were then raised by their grandmother and aunt.
