Millie Gibson has had quite the journey since landing her debut role in Coronation Street and now making her on-screen debut in Doctor Who. The actress is probably best known for playing Kelly Neelan in the ITV soap but shortly after leaving the cobbles last year, her next major move was revealed.
It was announced in November 2022 that Millie, who exited the cobbles the month before after three years, landed the role of Doctor Who's new companion and will star alongside Ncuti Gatwa, who was also revealed as the 15th Doctor last year. Following the big announcement on Children In Need, the former soap star has moved to Cardiff from Manchester to undertake her big new role.
And after months of work on the new series and plenty of anticipation, Millie will hit screens as Ruby on Christmas Day (Monday, December 25) alongside former Sex Education star Ncuti finally takes control of the Tardis.

Previously speaking about getting the role, Millie revealed the audition for the role couldn't have come at a better time for the teen, who was named the best young performer for her role in Corrie at the 2022 British Soap Awards.
"My agent rang me and said, 'How are you doing?'. And I was like, 'I’m a bit down, it was my last day today', and he said, 'Well, this will keep you occupied,'" Millie recalled to the Doctor Who magazine. "When he told me what it was, I just kept thinking, 'Oh my God, this is fate, this is fate.'"
