A father from Little Hulton has been jailed for injuring another man with a meat cleaver in 'retaliation' for assaulting his 12-year-old son.
Scott Pearson, 42, turned up at a paper straw factory in Salford after receiving a call from his son about the incident. Lukasz Piasecki, was on a work break at around 6pm on September 13 when youths started throwing stones at him from the other side of a fence.
Manchester Crown Court heard today (January 2) that there was then an 'altercation' between Mr Piasecki and the youths, including Pearson's son. But when Mr Piasecki returned to his seat, the youths continued to hurl verbal abuse at the factory worker.

Pearson drove to the factory after his son informed him of the altercation. He ran towards Mr Piasecki, who was sat with two female colleagues, waving a meat cleaver and raised it above his head three times before injuring the factory worker's wrist during a struggle.
Mr Piasecki, who is currently in Poland, was left with a gash to his wrist and swelling to his head. Sophie Kenny, prosecuting, told the court at Crown Square that Mr Piasecki has not returned to work since the incident which 'exacerbated' his anxiety and depression.
Adam Brown, defending, told the judge, Peter Horgan, that Pearson pleaded guilty to unlawful wounding and possession of a bladed article at the earliest opportunity on December 5. He said that the defendant, who is already in custody and appeared in court via video link, went to the factory with the intention of threatening Mr Piasecki, but wished to express his remorse for his behaviour.
