A popular national chain has announced its Manchester restaurant is to close. Côte Brasserie is shutting its site in St Mary's Street, off Deansgate next to House of Fraser, after almost a decade.
The French bistro says it has taken the decision due to the restaurant's lease coming to an end, but that it hopes to "find a new home" in the city. The last day of service will be Saturday, February 3.
It becomes the latest venue in the region to confirm it is shutting in the first fortnight of the new year alone. In a statement, they said:“After nine fabulous years the lease is ending on our Manchester restaurant. This means we have to find a new home in Manchester.

"We love the city and we have been working hard to find a new location, however, this process takes time, and we want it to be in the right place for our future growth. We haven’t been able to find the right spot as yet, but we hope to have more news on that in the coming months.”
The company has several dozen other eateries across the country including in Liverpool and Chester. Its 106-cover Manchester restaurant, which also has a private dining room on the first floor, opened on the site of the former Prohibition bar in April 2014.
