City centre restaurant announces 'heartbreaking' closure after fire that led to Arndale evacuation

A popular food stall within The Arndale's food market has announced its closure following a fire that caused an evacuation of the shopping centre. Hong Thai, a much-loved Thai restaurant confirmed the news today in an emotional post on social media.
Firefighters were called out to Manchester Arndale on November 10 last year after a blaze broke out in the south side of the market hall. A few days later the team at Hong Thai confirmed a fire had taken place in their stall and they would be closed 'for a while', but today they have confirmed the stall's permanent closure.
In a video post shared to social media, Lilia Tsang, owner of Hong Thai said her 'heart was broken', as she confirmed that the stall at Arndale Market was permanently closed following the incident. However, they also stated that this would not be in the end of the road and asked followers to keep and eye out for future. updates.

In the Instagram post, Hong Thai's owner said: "Just wanted to give you some updates on what is happening right now. As you are aware of what happened in our restaurant, we had a small incident and that's why were permanently closing, which was not our choice.
"I would like to thank all our valued customers who supported us for those many years and this is not the end and we will be back, bigger and better."
In the caption they also said they were looking for a new home and thanked all their 'amazing' customers. "It has been a terrible time and my heart is broken but I will come back stronger. Thank you and keep following for updates," they added.
