A homeowner has been left raging after being pestered by their neighbour for a new fence.
The resident said they were approached by people from next door about building the fence which would sit "on the property line" between the two homes.
After eventually giving in, the homeowner decided to pick the cheapest option, but was left baffled when their neighbour "went with the more expensive option" and erected it "without permission." The Mirror reports that the cheeky neighbour had then sent them an invoice for their half of the fence despite going ahead without consulting them.
In a post on Reddit, they wrote: "My neighbour wanted to build a fence in between the ally way of our houses on the property line.
"He sent me three quotes for fences, I initially said no but after I agreed to pick the cheapest one so at least he'd leave me alone. He rejected this choice and went with the more expensive option anyway and already built it on the property line without my permission.
"Now I'm pretty p****d, what was the point of asking me if he was going to pick this option anyway, and he also sent me a quote on paying my half of the payment for this fence…On top of this, he is saying that no one can use this side of the ally way to get to the back of our house, and whoever wants to go to the backyard would need to use the alleyway on the other side of my house since the space is wider on that side and it would be illegal to allow myself or tenants to use the side between mine and his house.
"I have a feeling the whole reason he built this fence was to get my tenants who live in the basement to stop going in between the houses to get to the backyard entrance.
"However, even after the fence has been built there is plenty of room for them
