Michelle remembers the day she found out her husband had collapsed at work like it was yesterday. Martin Harriman was on shift at a leisure firm in Stockport when he suddenly fell unconscious in May 2019.
The dad-of-four was rushed to hospital where it was confirmed he had suffered a stroke – but doctors were hopeful he would recover.
However, Martin began fitting during physio treatment and he was immediately placed into an induced coma.

Tragically, his condition deteriorated and there was nothing more doctors could do. He died a short time later at the age of just 60.
But the dad left one incredible gift behind before his devastating passing. Unbeknownst to his family, Martin had previously signed up to the Organ Donor Register.
The dad went on to donate his liver and kidneys – saving lives through a choice he made before his untimely death.
Michelle, who had been married to Martin for 23 years, said: “He was the absolute love of my life, we knew from day one that what we had was something special.
“Martin was unique, he was my best friend and my soulmate. He was so caring and loving, he was funny and he was an amazing dad.
“Martin died very suddenly and it was devastating. I have been slowly piecing my life back together over the last four years.
“This has taught me that life is short, when I walked out the door to work that day, I didn’t know the next time I would see him he’d be coming out of the back of an ambulance.”
The couple had two children together, Morgan, 25, and Skye, 23, and Martin had two children from a previous relationship, Laura, 37 and Stuart, 34. Martin’s first grandchild is due on his birthday in November.
