This is the shocking moment when two thugs rammed a motorbike through a shop door before making off with the till.
Police have launched a probe after the SALUT Magazin Romanesc store on Arbroath High Street was targeted in the early hours of Friday morning. Shocking CCTV footage showed two men dressed all in black sitting on the motorcycle as they continuously drove into the front door.
The yobs then reverse back before ramming the entrance one further time, smashing a hole in the glass door. One of the thugs, who has his hood up and his face covered, manages to squeeze through into the shop as he dashes in and grabs the till.
As he scampers away back through the hole in the door, the other bungling lout drops the motorbike before the pair manage to eventually make off down the road.
Florin Vasile Radu, who owns the Eastern European food shop, says the thugs only managed to make off with around £20 in loose change - but he has been left furious following the reckless incident as he assesses the damage.
He told the Record: "I reported the incident to police immediately but I've been left to fix the damage by myself. It's made me very angry.
"I don't leave money in the shop overnight. They only made off with between £10 and £20 in coins.
"Police are in charge of the investigation now. At the moment it is my job to resolve the damage that they have caused, but I just hope that the police find them."
It's believed that the motorbike used in the robbery was stolen. On Monday, officers told the Record their enquiries into the incident remain ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.10am on Friday, March 15, 2024, officers received a report of a break-in at a premises on High Street, Arbroath. Enquiries are
