A man has been arrested and charged after allegedly using a stolen lorry to ram-raid two shops in Arbroath.
A police probe was launched into the attempted break-in which saw the entrance to the Mayfield Foodstore completely destroyed.
Pictures from the scene on Mayfield Terrace show the front of the shop caved after allegedly being struck by a vehicle.
A second nearby business was also reportedly targeted in the early hours of Friday, March 22, with a parked car damaged.
A 30-year-old man has since been charged in connection and was due to appear at Forfar Sheriff Court on Monday.

He has also been charged in connection with separate incidents in the town on Friday, March 15.
The lorry, which belonged to David Hall who owns the Ulearn LGV training Centre, has since been recovered but is said to be a write-off.
He previously told the Record that he would have to cancel £5000 worth of booked work due to the vehicle being unusable.
He explained: "The lorry is a write-off. The front, the passenger side and the rear have all been damaged.
“The lorry costs within the region of £7000 to £8000 and it’s a very specific vehicle as well.
“It’s an ex-MOD training vehicle with dual controls. There were only so many made so it’s going to basically be impossible to replace."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 30-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with break-ins and attempted break-ins involving a stolen vehicle on Mayfield Terrace and High Street, Arbroath.
“The incidents happened on Friday, 15, and Friday, 22 March, 2024.
“The man is due to appear at Forfar Sheriff Court on Monday, 25 March, 2024.”
