The agency said three Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) are forecasted, which means auroras may be visible. This is when material from the sun’s surface is ejected into space, which can cause a geomagnetic storm if directed towards Earth.

For the best chance of seeing the Northern Lights you need a clear night with little to no cloud cover. Find a dark location, away from built up areas, where light pollution is low and look toward the northern horizon.
It can be difficult to see the lights with the naked eye, but the phenomenon may appear more clearly and brighter in photographs. Using a tripod to keep your camera still and a long exposure length will produce the best photos.
