Mumford & Sons have opened up about their collaboration with Pharrell on new single ‘Good People’ – their first new music in five years.The British band returned with the single yesterday (January 16), which was produced by Pharrell and features his backing vocals.The artists also brought in the vocals of a six-piece vocal choir from the USA and Canada, hailing from Native American Tribes within the Northern Great Plains.In a new interview with The Zane Lowe Show on Apple Music, Marcus Mumford recalled meeting Pharrell almost 10 years ago on the festival circuit, sharing that they “instantly got on”.“There was a mutual kind of respect and admiration straight away,” he added.”And we’ve always talked about making music together. We’ve always talked about just getting in the studio and seeing what happened.”The band were performing at Pharrell’s festival Something in the Water in Virginia Beach last year when they committed to getting in the studio.“And I said to him, man, we’ve got to do that thing we’ve always talked about doing and get in the studio together,” Mumford said.

The Met Office has issued its latest update on whether snow will hit the UK as the year draws to an end.
According to the weather agency, the last few days of 2023 are set to be unsettled with strong wind and rain likely across much of the country. Snow is likely to feature, the Met Office said, but only in certain areas.
The challenging conditions brought by Storm Gerrit, which saw a localised tornado hit Tameside, have now eased. However blustery and rainy condition will continue through Thursday and into Friday.

On Saturday, a low pressure system will move in from the west, bringing wintry conditions as the new year approaches. During the early hours of the weekend the "potentially deep area" of low pressure will move in from the west to affect Ireland and western parts of the UK, the Met Office said.
Forecasters explained: "As the system moves eastwards, the boundary between the area of low pressure and the relatively colder conditions further north and east will lead to a band of transient snow across some of the high ground of northern England and Scotland. It is possible this snow could fall to lower levels for a brief period of time across Scotland."
Current weather maps suggest that parts of Cumbria will be hit by some heavy snow. Meanwhile, Greater Manchester looks likely to avoid the white stuff, but rain and hail is likely to hit the region on Saturday morning.
