Sunny Day Real Estate have returned with their first new single in 10 years, ‘Novum Vetus’, and announced a run of shows to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their seminal album ‘Diary’.The emo legends, who announced their reunion in 2022, had been teasing the song earlier this week by sharing a minute-long snippet to Instagram. The sound soundtracks a video of an artist drawing the phrase “novum vetus”, (Latin for “everything old is new again”) and then sketching out a boat at sea, over which frontman Jeremy Enigk was heard singing: “The day we died inside, the world was suffering / 10,000 words collide but no one said a thing / the day we died inside the walls come tumbling down.”Although ‘Novum Vetus’ is only just seeing the light of day, it was first conceived when Sunny Day Real Estate were recording 1998’s ‘How It Feels to Be Something On’.

Yungblud has released ‘When We Die (Can We Still Get High?)’, his first single of 2024, featuring Lil Yachty.The track sees the English musician – born Dominic Harrison – confronting metaphysical questions, opening with the lyrics: “Does Heaven have a dealer? Do they sell the love for cheaper than in Hollywood? / As hell is gettin’ colder, I don’t plan on gettin’ older in this neighbourhood“, before culminating in him belting the song’s title over an immense soundscape: “When we die, tell me, can we still get high?”Later in the track, Lil Yachty joins in with mind-bending bars: “If you fall far too deep / Lose yourself in your new life / Head over heels for your new eyes“, the track’s trippy production complementing the rapper-producer’s current psych-rock phase, heralded by his 2023 album ‘Let’s Start Here’.In a press release, Yungblud spoke about intending to collaborate with Lil Yachty since 2019. “When we die (can we still get high?)’ was one of the first songs I wrote when I got to New Orleans to make new music,” he wrote.

Alex Ritman U.K.-based film production and distribution company Sovereign is expanding across the Atlantic with the launch of a distribution arm in the U.S. With a plan to release two to three titles a year theatrically and across VOD platforms, the first film slated for release from the new entity is Laurent Nègre’s World War II thriller “A Forgotten Man,” which Sovereign also produced. Set in 1945 after the surrender of Nazi Germany, the story follows the Swiss ambassador (played by Michael Neuenschwander) after he leaves Berlin, but finds himself haunted by his past.

CIX have released their first ever single album ‘0 or 1’, featuring title track ‘Lovers or Enemies’.The single album, alongside the video treatment for ‘Lovers to Enemies’, dropped today (January 24) at 6pm KST, portraying the five members of CIX in some sort of cybernetic universe as they struggle to figure out where they stand with the girl of their dreams.“Now, either embrace me / Or become my enemy / It has to be one of the two / It can’t get simpler, right?” CIX belt on the chorus. On Tuesday (January 16), Louis Vuitton live-streamed their Men’s Fall-Winter 2024 Collection presentation held at Paris Fashion Week.During the stream, an unreleased Miley Cyrus song played near the 13-minute mark.

Bleachers have released their new single ‘Tiny Moves’, backed by a music video directed by Jack Antonoff’s wife, Margaret Qualley.The clip, co-directed by Qualley and Alex Lockett, depicts Qualley stopping in front of a car parked by the Hudson River at dawn before launching into a dance sequence which she also choreographed. Mumford & Sons have returned to music after five years with their new track ‘Good People’ featuring Pharrell.Produced by Pharrell, the song features a thumping beat with chanting and choir-like backing vocals.
