Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been left out of a significant royal event for the second consecutive year.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who relocated to California after stepping down as senior working royals in 2020, have not received an invitation to this week's Trooping the Colour ceremony on June 15.
During the late Queen Elizabeth II's reign, the extended Royal Family were invited onto the balcony, but last year saw a change in protocol, with only working royals now permitted - resulting in Harry, Meghan and Prince Andrew being excluded.
Since their move to the US four years ago, the couple has been openly critical of the Royal Family, levelling various accusations at The Firm in their explosive Netflix docuseries 'Harry and Meghan', as well as in the Duke's revealing memoir 'Spare' and subsequent promotional TV interviews.
One member of the Firm who seems to be pleased by their absence is Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, who is said to be 'relieved' she no longer has to curtsy to Meghan according to reports.
As the wife of Prince Edward, she received a new title when her husband was promoted to Duke of Edinburgh following King Charles' accession to the throne.
Sophie had previously been duty bound to bow to Meghan and Harry as the former Suits actress was of higher ranking than her as a senior working royal.
